Terri & Joe Wedding in the Tullamore Court Hotel

Real Wedding in the Tullamore Court Hotel

Terri & Joe were Married at the Tullamore Court Hotel on 30th June 2017

Joe and I met nine years ago when I was out with a group of friends and I spotted Joe playing in the band. I got chatting with him and the following night he asked me out to dinner and I was a regular at his gigs from then on. We got engaged on Christmas Morning 2015. Joe lost his Dad about six weeks before Christmas that year, so him proposing didn’t even cross my mind. It was a total surprise and a great way to brighten up the Christmas holiday for the whole family.

Real Wedding Tullamore Court Hotel - 631We started the wedding planning nearly straight away. We knew we wanted to stay local so we could have all our family and friends come celebrate with us. Joe being in the music scene and a member of The Secrets Wedding Band had played in the Tullamore Court Hotel on numerous occasions and he had seen the effort the hotel and staff go to to ensure a wedding couple have a perfect day, so we knew that hotel was at the top of our list to visit.

When we arrived for the viewing we met with Ann Mcloughlin, the hotel manager, who was so nice and friendly which made the whole process so easy. The ballroom was set up for a wedding that day and it was beautiful. It gave us a real insight into what our day would be like. I wasn’t afraid to ask any questions and we had a number of ideas we wanted to incorporate into the day and Ann, without any hesitation, was on board with them all. We knew straight away this was the hotel for our wedding day and we didn’t need to look anywhere else.

Once the hotel was booked and the date picked, we moved forward with the rest of the planning. The church was St Thomas Church, Rosemount, where I  grew  up and the priest, Fr Jimmy Murray, a dear family friend. The ceremony music was unquestionably going to be Joe’s sisters Noreen and Claire. Noreen Rabbette also plays alongside Joe in The Secrets Wedding band and they also perform wedding ceremonies together.

Our photographer was Jenny McCarthy of Photos by Jen. She covered a wedding we attended the previous year and she was just so professional and friendly to all the guests we knew we had to have her cover our day and we were so happy we did. Her photos are amazing.

Real Wedding Tullamore Court Hotel - 508Our videographer, Brendan Brophy of Brophy Videography, was very professional and we loved the finished product. He never missed a thing on the day.

The weeks leading up to the wedding I was in contact with Donna the wedding coordinator at the Tullamore Court Hotel who was extremely helpful with any queries I had. Any changes to the guest numbers or table plans were never a problem. We were given a complementary tasting of their wedding menu so we could decide on what to pick for ourselves which was a lovely idea as we had a few options on the menu we couldn’t decide between.

The day before the wedding the hotel allowed us to bring over all our pieces for the vintage theme. This enabled us to set up the ballroom and not have to worry about them on the day.

Arriving at the hotel on the day of the wedding was fabulous and we were both so unbelievably happy. Walking in the front door with a glass of champagne to all our guests was just the start of the professionalism we received on the day. The layout of the ballroom was out of this world. I wanted black chair covers and table cloths but I had never actually seen it set up. I was so glad I chose them as they looked so elegant and added a contrast against the white backdrop of the top table.

The quality of the dinner service was outstanding and they had great coordination between management and staff and they had a lovely surprise for the arrival of the main course. The food was beautiful with good sized portions. Our guests are still raving about the hotel and the meal saying it was the best they have ever had at a wedding.

Our wedding day was perfect, from the magical moment of us meeting at the top of the altar, to walking into a full ballroom of our family and friends, to dancing with my husband for the very first time. These are moments we will cherish forever. We would like to thank the staff and management at The Tullamore Court Hotel for making our dreams come true. We cannot recommend them enough.
